Samoa Caramel Apples

350c6b96-b733-4a45-b84c-a393048ea132Hey Loves! F & J here!

Here we are again with another recipe. This time we watched a Delish video that someone shared on Facebook and we just had to try!

First, we knew it probably wasn’t as easy to do as the quick little video made it seem and we did have to try a couple things a few times but we’ve got it! And hopefully we can warn you from making the same mistakes!

We needed to make a quick trip to the grocery store for this one but it’s a pretty simple list. You need caramel sauce (we chose to melt caramels instead of buying a prepackaged sauce), chocolate chips, shredded coconut (which we bought in bulk so we only got what we needed!) and some green apples.  86295a99-980a-4b97-8f62-748b109bd57c

We cut the apple into slices so they would lay down flat and cut the centers out in a circle. (We got creative and used our tablespoon measurer to cut our circles out!) Then we put some of our caramels into a microwavable bowl with a tablespoon of water and put it in the microwave. (Keep checking on them ever 15/20 seconds, we burned our first batch because we just put it in the microwave for the whole 2 and a half minutes like the back of the bag said!) When the caramel was melted we poured in our coconut and mixed it. Then we took a spoon to put it on the apple slices.

Then we melted our chocolate chips in the microwave as well. The Delish video says to put butter in with it but we found it made our chocolate not smooth and therefore we were unable to use it. We had much more success when we just melted the chocolate chips by themselves. Once again you need to keep checking on them ever 15/20 after the first 30 seconds so you don’t burn them!

Then take a spoon and drizzle the chocolate on top and enjoy!

These were extremely tasty and we scream fall! We will definitely make them again! Let us know below if you give them a try and love them too!

Pumpkin Patch

Hey Loves! F & J here!pumpkin patche4307371-65f0-42e8-acdb-9bc5f17b087bpumpkin patchpumpkin patchpumpkin patchOctober would not be complete without a trip to the Pumpkin Patch! This year we decided to try out a new farm in the Seattle area. We went to the Craven Farm Pumpkin Patch in Snohomish Washington, and we can say the fall vibes are definitely present. We found ourselves lost in a 15 acre corn maze and fueled up with warm caramel apple cider, and ended choosing between a million perfect pumpkins. Its free to get in and the cost of the activities are pretty reasonable. There are a ton of photo opportunities with rustic fall vibes filling the crisp air. We definitely recommend this patch to families who want a true pumpkin patch experience!

Happy pumpkin hunting!

Annual Pumpkin Painting

Hey Loves! F & J here!

Every year since 2013 we have had an annual painting pumpkin party! We pick a Disney pair and paint them on little pumpkins to celebrate the Halloween season. In the past we have painted Mike and Sully from Monsters Inc., Woody and Buzz from Toy Story, Rapunzel and Pascal from Tangled, and Lilo and Stitch! This year we decided to paint Chip and Mrs. Potts from Beauty and the Beast!

Give us suggestions to what we should paint next year in the comments below!

Happy Halloween!

Easy Caramel Snickerdoodles

Hey Loves! F & J here!

Fall is definitely here  and with the colder weather outside and the rain we are finding ourselves inside more during the day. One of the things we have been doing more of to keep ourselves busy is baking! We found this super simple recipe on Pinterest and decided to give it a try.

All you need is a container of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls, some caramels (we used the Kraft ones that people use for making caramel apples) and some cinnamon and sugar.

We mixed the cinnamon and sugar in a bowl and set it aside for later. Then popped open the crescent rolls and started ripping pieces off to wrap around the caramels. Once we finished rolling the dough into balls, with the caramels in the middle, we rolled them in the cinnamon and sugar mix.

Then all you need to do is bake them at 350 degrees for about 12 minutes! Super easy and super quick!

Personally, they were not our favorite cookies but they were definitely a hit with everybody else! Someone said they were heavenly and they were all eaten! If by chance they manage to last long enough to cool off, just pop them in the microwave for a little to heat them up before eating them!

If you have any favorite recipes we should try please let us know in the comments below!

FabFitFun Unboxing – Fall 2017

Hey Loves! F & J here!

We finally decided to give into the craze and get a subscription to FabFitFun! Every season you get a box filled with tons of fun and useful goodies to try out while paying a fraction of the retail value! After considering to join for far too long, F decided that she couldn’t hold out any longer and lets just say she was not disappointed one bit.

As you can see in the pictures above there are a ton of full sized products that range from beauty to general life style products. F was most excited to try out the carbon tooth powder which is supposed to help whiten teeth. She also loved the mud mask! It was super easy to use and left her skin feeling smooth! But I by far F’s favorite product was the cozy wrap which she uses as blanket! It is so soft and warm, and such a pretty color!

F can’t wait to use all her new items, and definitely can’t wait to receive her next box. J is pretty sure she will be hopping on the subscription train too!

Na Pali Coast Rafting and Snorkel

napalicoastnapalicoast2aaDCIM100GOPROHey Loves! F & J here!

While we were in Kauai we got the chance to take a rafting trip down the Na Pali Coast and snorkel! Neither of us had ever been snorkeling before so we were a bit nervous but as soon as we were in the water we loved it!

On the rafting trip down the coast we had the chance to see dolphins and Hawaiian Sea Turtles! The dolphins put on quite the show and came super close to our raft.

While we were snorkeling we got to see some fish but our favorite find underwater was the octopus we found! Once we got over the initial shock that we were swimming in the water with an octopus we found it really cool to watch him move from rock to rock and see how well he blended in with the reef.

We also had the chance to go into some sea caves and see some of the Na Pali Coast that has been used in famous movies and tv shows including Jurassic Park, Pirates of the Caribbean and Bay Watch. The tour guides were also very good at sharing the local legends with us.

We highly recommend that if you are going to Kauai you book yourself a trip! We booked through Blue Dolphin Charters but there are many different options to choose from. Just remember to bring sunscreen and reapply so you won’t get as badly burned as either of us!
