If you are anything like us, you could live off fruit! We love it! We have also been sooo obsessed with açaí bowls. We are guilty of spending way to much on them, so we decided to try and make them at home. To be completely honest we went to about 10 stores looking for frozen açaí and we were out of luck and we decided to just make do with what we had.It really turned out great so we had to share.
We used about a cup and a half of frozen blueberries as our base and blended it with roughly a quarter cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk, and a big spoon of protein packed peanut butter to give it some substance. The consistency should be quite thick,. You can definitely adjust the ingredients to what you think tastes best.
We then poured the smoothie mixture in a big bowl and topped it with fresh fruit, granola, and a drizzle of honey. It’s delicious, healthy, and the protein in it really keeps you full for a long time. It’s definitely a recipe we will use again. We are planning on experimenting with a bunch of different fruits.
