Holiday Wreath

image2Hey Loves! F & J here!

Every year for Christmas and the holiday season F makes a wreath for her door. We love wreaths because they get you in the holiday spirit as soon as you walk through the door.

We stocked up on supplies at Michaels Arts and Crafts store. They always have a huge selection of holiday floral to choose from, and used them to decorate a plain wreath. Using hot glue and a her creativity she created a beautiful and very festive wreath.

It is a very simple craft that you can do for your homes too! If you do please let us know in the comments we would love to see what you come up with!

Merry Molasses Cookies

Hey Loves! F & J here!image1

The winter season always brings so many sweet traditions that make the spirit of the holidays come alive. This time of year baking is something that both our families are really into. Whether it be cookies for Santa, or sweet treats to share, there are always things baking in the oven.

We really felt the holiday spirit yesterday when we looked out our windows and snow was falling from the sky. We had just picked out the perfect tree and the house was cozy and warm. It just felt right to whip up some delicious and festive cookies.  We chose to make molasses cookies and they were a big hit. They were warm and chewy and just perfect.

To make them more festive we just dipped them in white chocolate and decorated them to look like they had holly on them. Super cute and easy. Check out the recipe below! And let us know what your favorite holiday traditions are!

1/2 tsp ginger

White Chocolate

Decorations

How to make:

  1. Beat together the sugar and butter until creamy and then add the molasses and beat until well mixed.
  2. Beat in egg until the mixture it lighter in color and fluffy.
  3. Combine the dry ingredients and mix in separate bowl.
  4. Slowly add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients.
  5. Refrigerate dough for about 45 minutes, or until it hardens a bit ( It will make it easier to roll them into balls)
  6. Roll the dough into about 1 inch balls and coat them in sugar. Place them on a baking sheet.

  8. Let the cookies cool, then dip them into melted white chocolate. Decorate as desired! Enjoy!

Blueberry-licious

fullsizerender-1Hey Loves! F & J here!

If you are anything like us, you could live off fruit! We love it! We have also been sooo obsessed with açaí bowls. We are guilty of spending way to much on them, so we decided to try and make them at home. To be completely honest we went to about 10 stores looking for frozen açaí and we were out of luck and we decided to just make do with what we had.It really turned out great so we had to share.

We used about a cup and a half of frozen blueberries as our base and blended it with roughly a quarter cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk, and a big spoon of protein packed peanut butter to give it some substance. The consistency should be quite thick,. You can definitely adjust the ingredients to what you think tastes best.

We then poured the smoothie mixture in a big bowl and topped it with fresh fruit, granola, and a drizzle of honey. It’s delicious, healthy, and the protein in it really keeps you full for a long time. It’s definitely a recipe we will use again. We are planning on experimenting with a bunch of different fruits. Let us know in the comments below your favorite fruit combo!
